Belts

Gah… why is it so hard to find a good belt in a joyful colour that we actually love?
There are endless black and tan options.
But a proper green? A rich pink? A beautiful blue? Suddenly they’re nowhere to be seen, and I really think having a few good colourful options really help pull an outfit together!
The other thing that is tricky about belts, is that you kinda need to have two different sizes:
1. Hip / Trouser Belts
These are longer and are used for your jeans jeans and trousers. They’re usually longer, designed to sit lower on the body, and they finish an outfit off properly.
Even if they’re neutral, they make denim look intentional rather than accidental.
2. Waist Belts
These sit higher, over dresses, knits, or blazers. They’re shorter, often slightly slimmer, and they’re about shape rather than holding anything up.
It’s not that you have to find a different belt, it’s just worth thinking when you buy a belt, what job you want it to do and buying the right length for that job.
If you’ve ever tried to wear a hip belt at your waist and wondered why it feels bulky or awkward, that’s why.
And if you do spot a joyful coloured one in the wild… send it my way immediately!
