The Curated Wardrobe update

I know that JOYDROPS aren’t probably the best place for this, but I had a big update about (and a long, fun email planned for tomorrow on style personalities) so I figured this would be a good place to get into it.

You’ve probably noticed I’m in the middle of giving the Curated Wardrobe a bit of a glow-up.

I think we’re on version 3… maybe 4? From instagram, to the website and to filters. Honestly, I’ve lost track 😂 — but every version has been about learning, tweaking, and making it better, more inspiring, and more useful for you.

Here’s what’s changing (and why):

1. Smaller, but better.

Fewer pieces. More intentional picks.
An actually CURATED wardrobe — more like a boutique edit, not a never-ending scroll.

For a while I was trying to add as many clothes in as possible — to give people options, trying to cover different price points, brands, styles etc.
But truthfully? That just made it into an unwieldy beast. And I’m not even sure it was something that anyone was finding helpful.

Now, each wardrobe will feature key seasonal items I believe are worth adding — things that work hard for your lifestyle, flatter your season, and reflect current trends.

Example: for sandals this spring, you might see one or two neutral simple pairs, a few metallic options, and something joyful or patterned.

That’s it. Easy, simple, helpful.

2. The depth comes in the #JoyDrops.

The Curated Wardrobe is the overview. The #JoyDrops are the deep dive.

This is where I’ll go into a specific type of clothing. So instead of loading 20 patterned skirts into the wardrobe (that barely get clicked) and make it really overwhelming to shop, I’ll respond to what’s being asked for in the group and create focused drops — things like “the best patterned skirts for Autumns” or “the best colourful lightweight jackets.”

These will be based on requests in the group, seasonal trends & what I think will be useful for you all.

There will be links to the JoyDrops in the Curated Wardrobe as well — so it's easier to find JoyDrops items and they’re linked more fluidly.

3. No more body shape filters.

This has been a hard decision to make, but honestly I think it’s the right one. Tagging everything by body shape took hours an was a massive bottleneck in the process — and I also think most of you were shopping across shapes, and know the clothes that work best for you.
Or, if you’re unsure, you can ask in the Facebook group.

I personally think the hardest thing to do is to find the right colours in the shops for your season — which the Curated Wardrobe does for you.

What I will be doing is updating the the body shape advice on the page so that its less generic and more focused on the clothes for that season.

Transparency moment: I do hope to bring back body shape filtering in future — once I have team support. I know it is useful for some of you, and I haven't forgotten that.

4. No more rigid categories.

No more separate pages for coats, tops, trousers, etc.
Instead: one clean, scrollable seasonal page that shows how the items work together visually. Like a lookbook meets shopping edit.

I realised there was something a bit clinical and… well, un-joyful and uninspirational about the current wardrobe.
It was practical to have the items laid out in a grid with no backgrounds etc, but I’m not sure how much it made the clothes come alive.

Now they’re all just going to be grouped together — and I actually think it’s visually more inspiring this way, and easier to browse.

It also gives you a really wonderful overview of how your season looks and feels together.

6. In stock items only

This has been a hard one to decide on. Some of you find it annoying when clothing links are old don’t work, others have asked me to keep old links up so you can refer back and hunt them down on Vinted — and I totally get that. So I was a bit unsure about what to do.

But after thinking hard about it, I think the Curated Wardrobe should (up to a point) be something you can confidently shop knowing the items are still available to buy. Otherwise, it’s just not that helpful and undermines its helpfulness as a tool.

You can still use it as inspiration for Vinted, other times or charity stores.

7. Community contributions ❤️

One of the changes I’m most excited about: this won’t just be a list of “Beks’ Picks.”

The Curated Wardrobe will start including your best recommendations — the tried-and-tested pieces you’ve found and loved.
Because honestly? Some of the best ideas come from another mum in the same boat as you.

I’ve seen a lot of you doing this in the group anyway, but I would love to make it more formal.

So, starting this Friday, I’ll be adding a new weekly post into the Facebook group:

#lovedbyyou
Every Friday morning, you’ll see the post pop up. It’s your place to share anything you’ve bought recently that you really rate.

Here’s what to include (so others can search for it easily):

  • What you bought

  • Why you love it

  • Your body shape + colour season (to help others know if it might work for them too)

  • A link to the item (so they don’t have to go hunting)

  • And a pic of you wearing it is always a bonus!

I’ll be checking in every week and adding as many of your recommendations into the Curated Wardrobe as I can. When I do, they’ll be marked clearly as:
💙 Loved by a JD Member 💙

So we can all benefit from each other’s great finds!

I can’t wait to see what gems you’ve discovered—and I love the idea of the wardrobe becoming more of a reflection of all of us, not just me. Because Joyfully Dressed isn’t just my space… it’s ours.

Let me know what you think!

Hoping to have the first season example ready to show you next week, and then i’ll be working around the clock to update the others.
