Natalie asked a brilliant question in the group this week:
“I would love to see some styling for these square scarves. They seem so versatile—tied on bags, in your hair, around your neck—and I’d love to get a couple to brighten up a simple outfit, but I'm just not sure how it would suit me.”

So today, let’s chat all things square scarves—because honestly, they’re such an underrated little styling hero. Whether you’re adding a pop of colour, playing with print, or just switching things up without buying new clothes, scarves can do a lot of the heavy lifting.

🎀 In Your Hair

Adding a scarf to your hair is one of the easiest ways to elevate your look—whether you're throwing your hair up in a bun or pulling it back in a ponytail.

To stop it slipping, try tying the scarf around a hairband first, then pop it into your hairstyle. It gives a bit more grip and makes it easier to style. Plus, it’s a fab way to bring colour and personality to your outfit (especially on days when you don’t have time to do much else!).

👜 On Your Bag

Pinterest is full of this kind of inspo for good reason—it works. As we have talked about already, embellishing bags is really on trend this season - and it goes for scarves as well as charms.

You can either tie your scarf in a simple knot on one side of the handle (great with square scarves), or if your scarf is longer, try wrapping it around the whole strap for a really luxe, styled-up look.

I also love how there is inspiration for less ‘fancy’ bags to have scarves tied to them.

💁‍♀️ As Part of Your Outfit

The classic neck scarf is back, but there are loads of ways to make it feel modern. Try knotting it at the side of your neck over a plain tee, or tuck it under a slightly open shirt for a softer look.
If you’ve got a more dramatic style, go bold with colour and print. If you’re more classic, try neutrals or soft tones in silk or satin textures.

And here’s one to try if you’re into belts right now—loop a longer scarf through your belt loops and tie it to the side for a playful pop of colour. It’s especially great with jeans or a simple linen dress.
