For this Joy Drop, I’ve chosen some of my favourite summer picks for each colour season.

They’re basically the items that make me stop and go, “Ooh, I wish I was [insert colour season] so I could buy this, because I LOVE it.”

So yes, it’s a pretty biased view!

But I do also think these are the types of pieces that can instantly add a bit of joy to your summer wardrobe.

I know sometimes, as we come into a new season, especially in the UK, where it feels like we get catapulted from one season to the other without much warning, it can feel hard to know what’s actually worth buying.

One minute we’re in coats and blazers, the next we’re suddenly trying to remember what we wore last summer.

So the simple thing to look for is this: “Will this add ease, joy or finish to outfits I already wear?”

Because that’s where a good summer buy really earns its place.

It doesn’t need to be wildly exciting. It doesn’t need to go with absolutely everything. And it definitely doesn’t need to be something you buy just because I’ve shared it here.

But if it helps you get dressed more easily, makes a simple outfit feel more styled, or brings a bit more joy into your wardrobe, then it might be worth considering.
