Can your colour season change as you age?
Katie asked ... Can your season change as you age and have grey hair, or does it generally stay the same?
No, you stay the same season, as your season is based on genetics, but the colours you wear in that season may change. As you age, you lose pigment from your hair (and your eyes and lips). You can look less bright, but those colours do not shift from being warm-toned to cool-toned.
If you are warm-toned (Spring or Autumn), your hair as it greys will remain warm and have a creamy tone, while a cool-toned season (Summer or Winter) will have a much steelier grey or pure white hair colour.
If you remember during week 2 - colour season, talking about the 12 and the four colour seasons. Your skin tone and hair colour change when you age, so what can happen is you move from one part of your season to another. So you might go from a cool winter to a bright winter (if your hair becomes platinum white). All that means is different colours in your season will look better on you than others.
A vital part of this course is not just being told what colours you should wear and blindly following those rules but thinking about how colours look on you and what they do for your features.
As your skin tone and hair colours change, you may have to re-experiment with the colours in your season and see what suits you better.
