Summer time layers

Just because it's warm doesn't mean you'll never need an extra layer.

Maybe you're covering your shoulders from the sun, popping into an air-conditioned shop, heading out for the evening, or simply feel more comfortable with a little extra coverage.

Sometimes you just want to have something light and easy to throw on over your outfit.

Here are three of my favourites types to try:

A striped shirt
Wear it open over a vest or dress, tie it around your waist, or throw it over your shoulders. It instantly gives an outfit a relaxed, effortless feel.

Even better if it's a linen shirt!

A kimono

Perfect if you love a softer, floatier look. It adds colour, movement and personality without feeling heavy. I love how the patterned ones immediately add interest, but you can also find ones that are lovely in simple block colours.

I particularly like how these look over a dress, or a simple top and denim shorts.

A lightweight jacket

Think linen, cotton or a light denim jacket. Ideal when the temperature drops or you want a little more structure to your outfit.
