Wolf and Badger

To call Wolf & Badger a "brand" is slightly misleading, it's really more of a curated online boutique, and there's a small physical store in London on Carnaby Street that is honestly one of my favourite places to wander slowly.

The kind of place where you go in just to look and end up discovering a jewellery designer you've never heard of, or a bag that feels completely different to anything on the high street.

What makes it special is that it stocks independent brands, which means smaller production runs, less trend-chasing and a lot more personality. When you're trying to build a wardrobe that feels like you rather than everyone else, that difference really does matter and it feels like a treasure trove of items.

To be clear, some of the prices are genuinely eye-watering, as you'd expect from this kind of boutique. But there are also beautiful mid-range pieces, strong accessory options, interesting colour choices and a very good sale section that seems to rotate throughout the year.

If you're patient, you can often find something joyful at a much more comfortable price point.

This isn't somewhere I'd go for basics. It's where I look for the pieces that are going to make an outfit sing, a statement bag, a colourful knit, unusual jewellery, a special occasion dress, or a gift that doesn't feel generic. It's also brilliant when you're bored of seeing the same silhouettes repeated across the high street, because the independent brands tend to bring better fabric choices, more interesting cuts and more playful colour palettes. The kind of things that catch your eye precisely because they don't look like everything else you see on the high street.

I will often go into an absolute rabbit hole, of finding an item I like, then clicking on the brand, and then browsing all the other items in the boutique from that brand.

If you haven't had a wander through it yet, I'd really recommend it, even just for the inspiration.
